About the Role:
HeyGen is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for Fall 2025 in its Toronto office. As an intern, you will contribute to core product development alongside experienced engineers, working across the full stack—including frontend, backend, and machine learning integrations. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about AI-powered applications and looking to grow in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You’ll get hands-on experience with our modern tech stack and take part in building innovative solutions that are central to the HeyGen platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Design, build, test, and deploy scalable and optimized features across both frontend and backend systems of the HeyGen platform
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact features
- System Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously evaluate platform performance, identify issues, and apply timely solutions for improvement
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews to ensure high-quality software delivery
- Security & Compliance: Maintain secure coding standards and help ensure the platform aligns with industry regulations and best practices
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or have graduated within the past year
- Available to work in-office in Toronto, 5 days per week during the Fall 2025 internship period
- Previous internship experience in software development is preferred
- Strong interest in AI-driven applications and product development
- Must be available for the Fall 2025 term with clear commitment dates
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed within one year) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
Technical Skills Required:
React, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, Go, RESTful APIs, MySQL, AWS, Azure, GCP
