About the Role:
Deltek is looking for a passionate and innovative Software Engineer Intern with an AI-first mindset. This 12–16-month internship provides recent graduates or current students pursuing a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in software-related disciplines a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects. Interns will work within a cross-functional scrum team and contribute to the full lifecycle of software development, from UI to backend services to cloud infrastructure.
This role is ideal for students or fresh graduates interested in modern software engineering and AI-driven development practices. Interns will be mentored by experienced engineers, and top performers may be offered a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, user-friendly web applications
- Contribute across the stack, including UI, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, linting, and test automation
- Leverage GenAI tools (e.g., Claude Code) for code generation, CSS frameworks, and prompt engineering
- Utilize cloud services and infrastructure tools such as AWS, Docker, and Terraform
- Apply system design principles such as microservices and serverless architectures
- Identify and debug production issues using AI-assisted tools
- Participate in experiments with AI agents for test generation, code review, and deployment automation
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Canadian Permanent Residents
- Open to students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related fields
- Recent graduates are also eligible
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
- Must be able to commute to the Calgary office for training
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate studies in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (in progress or completed)

Compensation:
The salary range for this internship is CAD 39,600 to CAD 69,300. Compensation is based on various factors including location, experience, and technical skillset. Additional incentives such as equity and performance-based bonuses may be available.
