About the Role

Dayforce, a global leader in Human Capital Management (HCM), is offering an exciting internship opportunity for students interested in artificial intelligence and its transformative potential in enterprise software. Based in Toronto, this hybrid role offers hands-on experience within our innovation lab, working directly with AI tools and business teams to prototype, experiment, and enhance operational workflows.

As an AI Transformation Engineer Intern, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, design AI-enhanced workflows, and gain valuable exposure to senior leaders and strategic decision-making processes. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Location: Hybrid, Toronto Office
Duration: 4 or 8 Months (September–December 2025 or September 2025–April 2026)
Weekly Hours: Full-time, 37.5 to 40 hours/week
Compensation: CAD 28.2–32.3/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze traditional business workflows and identify opportunities for AI-based transformation
  • Assist in prototyping AI-enhanced processes using tools like large language models (LLMs), automation platforms, and internal APIs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Support, Services, and Product for feedback and testing
  • Contribute to the creation of proof-of-concept applications and automation flows
  • Participate in rapid prototyping, experimenting, and iterative improvements
  • Document insights, technical findings, and project learnings
  • Attend meetings with senior leadership to observe and understand strategic planning

Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Full-time availability (37.5–40 hours/week) from September 2025
  • Must be available for in-person interviews at Dayforce’s Toronto office
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment
  • Demonstrated interest in AI, ML, and digital transformation through academic or personal projects

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (ongoing) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline

Technical Skills Required

Python, React, C#, SQL, OpenAI APIs, LangChain, Azure AI, Zapier, API integration, AI workflow automation, large language models (LLMs), automation platforms, business process analysis
