About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Intern – Software Engineer to join our Technology team in Fredericton, Canada. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing and developing high-performance cloud-based applications within an Agile team environment. You’ll be contributing to real-world projects that directly impact thousands of users globally.
This internship is an opportunity to explore multiple layers of the software stack—from backend services and databases to user-facing interfaces. You will also be exposed to modern technologies and development practices, working under the guidance of experienced professionals who are committed to your growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of large-scale, cloud-based applications focused on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Work collaboratively within Agile teams, participating in daily scrums and regular sprint cycles
- Analyze and enhance the functionality of web-based software and mobile platforms
- Gain exposure to multiple database technologies including relational databases and modern NoSQL systems
- Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve issues affecting the user experience
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to process improvements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently enrolled at the University of New Brunswick
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Available for internship as per academic schedule
- Passion for technology and a desire to explore new technical ideas and tools
- Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree (in progress) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or any closely related technical field
Technical Skills Required:
Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, MySQL, MongoDB, Git, Agile Methodology, Debugging, Problem Solving, Communication Skills, Software Development Life Cycle
