About the Role:

As a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, develop, and deploy software solutions. You’ll be solving complex technical problems, writing scalable code, and learning best practices in software development. This 12-week internship is designed for individuals with a strong foundation in computer science who want to grow their technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative software solutions and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable applications
  • Write technical documentation, including requirements, design specs, and deployment plans
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing activities
  • Monitor the progress of your deliverables and communicate updates with stakeholders
  • Learn and apply best practices in software development, DevOps, and system design

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science
  • Expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2028
  • Should be physically located and studying at an academic institution in Canada
  • Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 12-week internship period
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and operating systems
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or C#

Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (currently pursuing)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with distributed systems, relational databases, and multi-tiered architecture
  • Knowledge of optimization mathematics, including linear and nonlinear optimization
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Perl
