About the Role

This opportunity is funded by the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs Program, providing meaningful work experience for youth. As an IT Summer Assistant, you will collaborate with our IT Manager and contribute to various systems and technology tasks, especially focused on improving internal digital operations. This role offers real-world experience in IT systems support, database management, and digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of new IT systems
  • Support cleanup and optimization efforts within Microsoft 365
  • Provide technical support by communicating with computer users to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Document user issues and resolutions in a centralized problems-and-solutions log
  • Research and apply solutions using user guides and technical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Manager to identify cost-saving opportunities and system redundancies
  • Participate in the transition from on-premise to cloud-first technologies
  • Aid in ERP and CRM platform improvements
  • Assist with admin tasks related to digital systems and IT support
  • Help manage and organize digital assets and documentation

Eligibility Criteria

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program, and candidates must meet the following eligibility:

  • Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection status in Canada

Education Requirement

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
