About the Role:
Asana is seeking a Data Science Intern to join our Data Science and Engineering team in Vancouver. This internship offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data and decision-making, collaborating with product and business teams to influence company strategy using rigorous analysis, metrics design, experimentation, and predictive modeling. This is a hybrid position with in-office collaboration expected on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and remote work available on Wednesdays and Fridays.
As an intern, you’ll help drive data-informed decisions across teams and grow into responsibilities including metric definition, pipeline building, experimentation, and modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze A/B experiments to evaluate the impact of new product features
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to explore user behaviors and patterns
- Develop new data metrics and aggregations to broaden analytical capabilities
- Build predictive models to forecast user behavior and customer growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to translate findings into actionable insights
- Contribute to the ongoing development of scalable data tools and systems
Eligibility Criteria:
- Anticipated graduation between December 2026 and July 2027
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Science, or related quantitative field
- Authorized to work in Canada during the internship period
- Availability to work in a hybrid model from the Vancouver office
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree (in progress) in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
Technical Skills Required:
Python, Scala, SQL, Spark, Redshift, Statistical Modeling, Experimental Design, Data Warehousing, Machine Learning, Relational Data Modeling, GLM, Mixed Effects Models
